“We should just get it out of our systems?” Jayce blurts out.

As the night drags on, Jayce and Viktor find themselves struggling to stabilize the arcane crystal. This is only exacerbated by the fact that Viktor is incredibly attractive, and Jayce can't seem to tear his eyes off the Zaunite.

Summary
His eyes were different. That was the first thing Jayce really noticed. Well, not the first. The first was him standing. Him breathing. His voice, odd but that was to be expected because he was not flesh and blood anymore. But the eyes, now that Viktor was gone, now that Jayce’s mind could be clear, were the first thing he thought about.
Where once there had been warmth and gold, there was a pale, strange iridescence. Jayce probably didn’t really care. A transformation had happened. Some things, important things, were lost, traded for life. For Viktor. A fair trade but maybe Jayce was a little fucked up because anything felt like a fair trade right now.Viktor comes back different, but that hardly matters. Jayce waits for him to return and remembers what they once had together.

Jayce hugs him. That is the first thing that happens and his body acknowledges it as if it were being done to a thing and not him. His body would hurt; the brace would dig into his skin, his leg would twinge with the unexpected weight. His body would be elated; his heart fighting against his brain in desire, his palms sweating.
None of it happens.
What have we done, he thinks. He looks at Jayce and knows a grim reality: he is meant to be dead and he will spend the rest of his life rectifying that.

Viktor knows that Jayce's arms around him are the only thing keeping the voice of the Hexcore at bay. He knows he has only a few moments before it takes him away from Jayce forever.
