“Kanroji-san,” Tanjirou gently pulls away from the hug. “Who’s that?”
She looks excited, and waves Obanai closer. He shuffles only a few more inches forward. “That’s Iguro-san! I met him a while ago, and we decided to pair up. Listen to this; he’s like Nezuko!”
Tanjirou still hasn’t looked away from him. “Like Nezuko?”
“Yes! He doesn’t eat humans, and eats demons instead- which, your sister doesn’t do, but still, isn’t it so amazing?”
She’s clutching at her face, blushed and animated, but Tanjirou frowns.
“What are you talking about, Kanroji-san? This man- he smells like he’s eaten mountains of innocent people.”
Everything seems to stop. This was it. This was Obanai’s dead end, where everything is uncovered. He knew he couldn’t keep up the facade, he knew he was doing such a stupid thing by working with Mitsuri, stupid, so stupid.
(In which Obanai is an infamous demon, lying to Mitsuri in order to save his head- but it seems like he's bitten off more than he can chew, because he keeps on lying, until eventually, he begins lying to himself, too.)

Summary
She stretches away from the sword for as long and as well as she can, but her barely-practiced combat is no match for the slayer’s insane style. Mitsuri is absolutely enraptured by the zig-zag of his arm, and before she knew it, she was pinned down to the ground, blade right through the heart.
Mitsuri can feel herself gasping, pain burning through her, but it’s odd, because it’s all distant- kind of like she was seeing the scene from outside her body. Which was indeed very odd— but then it hits—oh no, I’m going to die!!!
(In which Mitsuri is a self-proclaimed demon of love, being hunted by a very angry and short demon slayer who either doesn't know what love is, or doesn't care- luckily for him, Misturi just can’t stand by and let a man live without being enlightened on love- even if that man is technically trying to behead her.)

he looks past the glaze over his eyes, and Mitsuri’s face is so bashful, soft, gentle, like looking at the incarnation of spring, and just entirely warm. And that warmth floods through him, breaking away all the ice, threatening to melt everything he is, to drown him.
And, when he opens his mouth to express his disapproval, he finds the words stuck in his throat, unable to rise past the surface of the foreign feeling.
“I don’t think that’s silly.” He chokes.
Mitsuri’s smile grows in size, and Obanai, sinking below dread in the face of his hypocrisy, wonders how he hasn’t burned away to nothing yet.
(In which Obanai is a very cold person, and Mitsuri is a very warm one.)
