“Because you went to me.” Leo methodically pulled things out of the kit and set them in an orderly row on the table. “Besides, if you go now, it’ll be a big to-do. You know that.”
Sylvester didn’t have a response to that. Or, at least, not a good one.
After a pause, Leo continued, more quietly, “You’ll be more comfortable here, anyway. I’ll take care of you.”
He didn’t have a response to that, either.

Leo across from him at the table, a single rose between them.
Sylvester’s eyelids dragged closed. The whole feeling was pink. The crypt was purple and orange, like a sunset. Leo’s hands under Sylvester’s knees were warm, the firelight reflecting off of Leo’s body was warm, the way his breath fanned over Sylvester’s skin—it was all so warm.
