Charlie hesitated. Her eyes fled from him, flicking off in search of something to take refuge in.
The girl was hiding beneath her sheets.
“I already ask so much of you.”
And, Alastor felt the compulsion. That insufferable writhe of his insides that demanded he drag her out into the open. By ankles or by hair—with his hands or his teeth. His eyes lowered to the break in her shirt collar, where fabric sat loose around pulsing skin.
He was tempted by Charlie's flesh.

“Do share, Princess, however did you manage to escape the imprisonment of your tower?” With narrowing proximity, the static of his voice raised the hairs on Charlie's arms. Not quite fear, no—more like dread. The filter served as a barrier. A veil that deprived her of genuine inflection. “Don't tell me you fashioned a rope out of…” Edging closer still, Alastor's spread fingers ghosted over the side of Charlie's head, claws just a breath away from catching on a strand. His voice lowered to a crackle of feedback. “Hair?”
Something shifted in Charlie's rib cage. What it was, she didn't know—but she felt the palpitation. She was close enough to smell him.

“I suppose, darling, that you are absolutely and inextricably determined and decided upon this course?” he broke in, gaze fixed somewhere above her head. “No substitutions accepted under any circumstances? No chance of a thunderbolt realization that you’d genuinely prefer to skin me alive instead, and convert my hide into an attractive wall hanging?”
Here we go. “Al—“
“Or might my kidneys be of interest? I have quite the fine matched set, which would be excellent broiled with some sherry and cream. And of course there’s always my liver—”
Charlie cupped his chin, digging her claws in ever so slightly; forced his eyes skyward to meet hers. “No skinning, no kidneys, and no liver! Besides, you know that I know that you only have half a liver anyway! Trying to pass off damaged goods as equivalent to your gorgeous ears in an effort to wriggle out of an already agreed-upon forfeit; that’s low, Alastor. Real low.”

Sequel to drink the flower away. Alastor may have had a blissful week of delight at Charlie’s expense, but such pleasures always carry a price, and now it’s his turn to suffer in a manner of her choosing.

Summary
The new and improved Hazbin Hotel is open for business, and with a steady flow of guests seeking redemption, Charlie couldn't be happier. But when Alastor continues to shirk his duties as the hotel's host, she has no choice but to confront him. She's shocked to find him shut away in his radio tower, slowly succumbing to his deadly angelic wound. Much to the radio demon's chagrin, she dedicates herself to his recovery.
Maybe his brush with death made him sentimental. Or maybe the infection from his wound messed with his brain. Whatever the reason, Alastor finds himself not only enjoying the princess's company but yearning for it long after he's recovered. More than just her positive energy begins to creep under his skin, and as he starts to see her in a new light, he begins to question things about himself and his reasons for being at the hotel.
