    Estella Paczowski, ex-combat field medic, is offered an enlistment opportunity from Captain John Price to join a private military contractor known as SpecGru. Three years spent out of the military has been a nasty concoction of grief, nightmares, untreated PTSD, and a few bottles of tequila--naturally, Estella is nervous about diving headfirst back into the world that birthed that trauma from all those years ago.
    Estella takes the offer, becoming a recruit and starting again from square one. She quickly discovers that joining SpecGru means being introduced to and trained under Price's team, and she finds a new sense of home within them, one that she hasn't felt in so long. One of the teammates, however, she can't seem to escape from. His eyes--behind the peculiar ghost mask--reflect the catalyst of all her trauma: fire.
