“Caffrey, what are you getting for lunch?” Diana asked, carrying a sticky note with the rest of the team’s lunch order scribbled on it. Neal swallowed thickly. “Nothing for me today,” he replied, pretending to be engrossed in his computer screen.
Diana frowned. “You’re sure?”
Neal nodded, not moving his eyes off his screen. He’d been feeling vaguely nauseated all morning and didn’t want anything to disrupt the precarious balance he’d worked out with his stomach. He wouldn’t put anything in and it wouldn’t spit anything out.
