Summary
Viktor never escapes the Undercity. He never finds his way to Piltover's Academy. He never takes a job with Heimerdinger and dreams of bigger things. Instead, after ten years as Singed's apprentice, he finds two lost children on the worst night of their lives and gives them a home. In many ways, this changes everything. In others, it changes nothing at all.
“No. You’re going to do something much worse than killing Silco,” Viktor tells Benzo’s ward. “He wants you dead. Out of his path, as he continues to forge forward. Instead, you’re going to survive.”
Viktor offers the boy his hand. “We are obstacles. All three of us. We’ll take care of each other."

Summary
Jayce’s partnership with Viktor is a well-oiled machine, solid and reliable. Or so he thought, until Jayce finds himself nearly spending the night with someone for no other reason than they remind him of Viktor. Suddenly, there’s a pebble in the gears, and it threatens to take everything down with it.
(Ambessa arrives at Piltover much earlier than she did in canon. The timing is not ideal.)

Summary
Viktor has never had many things to call his own. Everything he had he’s had to fight for. Climb and claw and bite for.
Jayce was the most blissfully effortless thing in Viktor’s life to claim. Capturing him had been as easy as a wine drenched kiss. But Viktor still felt that deeply ingrained instinct to dig in his nails and teeth and cling onto him as if at any point someone would try to take him away. So he vowed to mark Jayce until everyone knew who Piltover’s golden boy really belonged to.
Until everyone knew he would never let him go.

“I didn't ask whether you needed anything. I asked what you wanted me to give you.” Viktor reached up to cup Jayce's cheeks, his thumb tracing Jayce's bottom lip. Jayce looked at him before he looked down, opening his mouth enough that Viktor could barely slip his thumb into Jayce’s mouth. Jayce bit down gently.
“You've given me everything I could ever want, Jayce. Just love me for another year, “ Viktor whispered, pulling his hands away so he could wrap his arms around Jayce's neck instead.
“You don't have to ask for that,” Jayce told him.

Summary
Why today, of all days, he was going back to Zaun, he couldn't even fathom. He could be with Jayce right now, walking around the Progress Day stalls, seeing all the new innovations from the past year, listening to Jayce's excited ramblings and ideas for Hextech. He could be in his lab even, working on finishing his damn prototype to deliver to the Council in the new year. He could be at home reading the latest scientific journal. Anything.
But no, here he was, riding the lift down to the undercity. A visit that certainly wouldn't spell disaster.
Viktor takes a trip back to Zaun and has a really, really bad day. Jayce is there at the end of it.
