Summary
Hermione goes to a muggle university following the war. She is trying to escape the previous year, spending time with her parents, studying and talking with Harry. Things didn't work out with Ron and she has been ignoring his letters (and howlers). She's ready for her new beginning and to put the war behind her. But she feels uneasy whenever she sits in her history lecture.
He hated his father and what he had taught him to believe, his father is in Azkaban. He's ready to detach himself from his fathers views and spite him all at once. But when he sits into his first class in a muggle university he could swear she's sitting in the front of his history lecture. He knows he has to devise a plan to avoid her at all costs. It doesn't go to plan (literally) at all and he's ready to curse his teacher.

“Will we see you at the Burrow on Christmas Eve?”
Hermione stared out the window at the light flurry of snow that had just started to cover the tops of the buildings, wrapping the city in a clean white blanket. She knew that before she was even done with her lunch, the streets would turn to slushy mud, and the roofs would grey with ash from fireplaces. Nothing this peaceful was designed to last.
“No,” she said quietly, mostly to herself, before turning back to Harry. “No, I think I'm going to take a proper vacation this year.”
“Oh?” If Harry's eyebrows shot up any faster, they were liable to fly off his head entirely. It was all the confirmation she needed.
“Neville and Ron are always inviting me out to Vermont. I thought I might finally take advantage of their hospitality.”
Hermione Granger takes a holiday and is surprised to find Draco Malfoy living in a cabin in Vermont, in a town that is oddly obsessed with Christmas. She finds herself in dire need of help, with no one else around for thousands of miles, and is forced to face her old school bully. What she finds is far more than she could have ever anticipated.
