Before Nur, the gentle thrum of the Mantis’ engines acted like a sort of white noise generator. It blocked out every thought in Cal’s head and made it simple enough to meditate until he felt the pull of exhaustion. Even the lights pulsed in a rhythm he could feel with his eyes closed, and it wasn’t uncommon for Cere or even Greez to find him asleep leaning against the wall across from his cot, face turned towards the glow.

Luke Skywalker. The Commander that disappeared under unknown circumstances in the Evacuation of Hoth, the warrior, the Jedi, the Harbinger of Victory. One swing of his lightsaber, and all enemies fell before him. Disappeared into the Force, but fated to come back when the Rebellion needed him most.
The legends said nothing about how Luke spent most of his time between Bespin and Endor grieving.

This is amazing. Superbly written, Luke and Leia are very true to character, Vader is glorious in all his repressed and righteous (for once it really is!!) rage, and Palpatine is a magnificent and clever bastard. It's just brilliant.
