in the campaign 1 finale, Matt said something that really stood out to me and I haven't stopped thinking about it since I heard it. the summary of what he said is that in the year following Vecna's defeat, Percy starts to notice that Cassandra is displaying a lot of the same attributes that he had in himself in his darkest time, thanks to her close brushes with death and her time with the Briarwoods. Percy helps pull her through her anger and darkness, knowing what it is like, and makes sure she doesn't spiral the same way he did.
