Trunks has always been sure of himself in all areas of his life. He knows who he is and what he wants, so why does everything keep going wrong? Broken hearts, self-inflicted pressure, and a best friend who muddles the lines of their relationship certainly doesn't help. After one unfortunate event he's forced to look in the mirror, and finally confront who is staring back at him.

Matthaias slowly learns the truth as he slaughters those in his wake, the truth of his bloody birth and the hellish tale that spawned the new King of Hell into being. This story has many inspirations. Too Young To Die with Juliette Lewis is a favorite.
To appeal to the "fannish" requirements; readers of Maximum Ride By James Patterson, Max Payne, & The Crow & Stephen King's The Dark Half would enjoy this story, but this is NOT meant to be a fanfiction for any of those. It just has simular themes.
