After all, there are plenty of entry level positions remaining.” Shax tries to do that thing where you circle someone in order to make them nervous, but Crowley is instead preoccupied by the annoying clack of her decidedly unserious kitten heels. “Tell me, what do you prefer? Janitor? Dishwasher? Customer service representative?” She grins, flashing a horrible row of teeth that would fit better on the sort of creature one finds lurking at the bottom of the mariana trench. “Whipping boy?”
Whatever, Crowley thinks. King of the mountain, bottom of the food chain; what difference does it actually make? Nothing more than a change in configuration. In fact, you know what? The more demeaning the job title, the better! He’s up for the challenge—how low can he possibly go?
“Customer service representative, eh,” he muses. “Now there’s an opportunity I’d be a fool to pass up.”
Shax beams. “Admissions it is.”

Shax is most certainly not Crowley's type, but she does have her uses.

“You know, I’d actually already thought a lot about where the best place to begin would be! If I wanted to start reading all over again from scratch, I mean,” Muriel explains. “And I figure this one’s the only choice. Plus, it’s so short! I want to avoid the super long stuff, at least at first. It wouldn’t be a very fun book club if I wound up scaring everyone off right from the get-go, right?” They present Aziraphale with a thin paperback—nothing more than a pamphlet, really.
It is a copy of The Communist Manifesto, replicated in Esperanto, published 1908. Quite the rare edition, and extremely delicate. Aziraphale paid a pretty penny to get his hands on it. Normally, he would quail at the thought of such a prized possession being passed around a group of uneducated, ignorant plebeians.
But, then again, isn’t that the exact audience a manifesto is written for? Educating the masses—that’s the point.
“Muriel,” Aziraphale says, “I think that’s a wonderful idea.”

"About us, yes, yes," Aziraphale says, also choosing to forgo a proper greeting. “I made sure to give that particular subject priority on the list. First order of business: The Matter of Our Indelible Mutual Romantic Interest."
Crowley just stares at him for a long moment, dumbstruck. Aziraphale continues to look quite pleased with himself.
"...Alright," he eventually manages, both confused and alarmed. "Where the fuck is this all coming from, then?"
"The agenda?" Aziraphale answers, gesturing to the piece of paper he’s holding in his hands. "I thought having one might come in handy. After all, we have quite a lot of ground to cover."

Aziraphale suddenly decides that he and Crowley need to get on the same page, for all the good it will do them.
