Summary
In another universe, another time, things go just a bit differently, and Donquixote Rosinante lives, albeit seriously injured and bedridden.
But with his son refusing to speak until he gets news of the boy he'd left behind, Sengoku is forced to locate a child who turns out to be far more trouble than he was expecting before Rosinante's reticence gets him court-martialed, or worse. Hiding a precocious child with a legendary devil fruit is hard enough. Hiding one marked for death by World Government order is another thing entirely. Doing it at Marineford itself? That's just the height of folly. And yet, this is what Sengoku finds himself doing in order to keep the peace.

There was a certain art to following orders to the letter, rather than adhering to the spirit. Tobirama had long honed his talent for that particular method. It rarely ended well for him, but the freedom he had in exchange more than made up for any punishment. And, as he was technically following orders, it was near impossible for anyone to prove that he was knowingly twisting definitions to suit his plans.
This time, however, there was no possible way to twist this into anything other than what it was.(Tobirama has one weakness that he will never expunge. Summary
Helping Senju Tobirama through a surprise heat without losing his head and ending up fathering a litter on the Uchiha clan's most lethal enemy had been torture. A test of willpower the likes of which Madara never wants to go through again. Juggling his little brother's furious storm of look-at-me-I-hate-you hadn't helped.
The fallout should have been easier by comparison! Just tell the Elders to butt out of his sex life, let Izuna find them a lover that could hold a candle to that bleached bastard,
not feel guilty that Tobirama's own marriage prospects were now ruined,plot behind everyone's backs with the clan leader of their most terrible enemy, not alienate his lovely, paranoid, adorably pining little brother by babying him too much, tell the Elders to butt out of his sex life --Easy.
Meanwhile Izuna despairs of making his brother ever see reason and Tobirama goes dutifully on to his solitary end. See? Easy.
