Daryl doesn’t want to leave, not when he’s just buried the sun along with little Beth Greene. Everyone can tell he’s hurting, feeling guilty they whisper behind his back, but it’s not that simple. It’s on the third dawn of mourning that he hears it: a call from the grave, a voice muffled by four feet of dirt, Beth screaming his name.

In which Negan Smith knew Rick Grimes before the end of the world came to them both.
Officer Rick Grimes could see his marriage falling apart before his eyes. Negan Smith was starting to spiral as he felt his wife’s affections turn into practiced niceties. Finding one another in a bar outside King County, drinking buddies became affair partners with plans to leave their wives. But when Negan learned his wife was dying from cancer all he could think was 'not now'… only to never see Rick again outside of a news report about a police officer caught in the midst of fire.
Now, years later, Negan hadn’t expected to see his second lost love on his knees in the midst of his Saviors. Maybe the time for him and Rick was never, will never, be right. Maybe this time, Negan needs to decide what he really can’t lose.
