“What is that?” He demands, rising from his chair with a glare cold enough to freeze hell.
“A client.” Charles answers innocently. The dog wags its tail happily at Edwin, and Charles tightens his hold on the collar, just in case.
Edwin sighs “A client? That thing?”
“He’s a ghost. He wanted my help. That makes him a client,” Charles answers smugly.
“You are not keeping it in the office.”Charles keeps him in the office."
Charles finds and adopts a dog. In the process of training it, he falls in love.

After concluding his first trial, where he ruthlessly defends his childhood friend Larry Butz, his life is led down a series of sharp turns as he loses the only authority figure that kept him grounded. Over this series of events he learns about family, love, and the true meaning of legacy, as well as the unknown history of his own family. And maybe, along the way, he reconnects with an old friend?
(This is a novelization of the first Phoenix Wright game with the roles reversed. It includes heavy dialogue and full illustrations, as well as a lot of original character art! It isn't perfect, but it's one of my favorite projects.)
