Summary
“Come on, Mum! Push through.” Josh starts to run backwards in front of her. Show-off Kate thinks, as he tries to encourage her to keep going.
“Have... to... stop...” Kate slows to a skidding halt and bends at the middle to rest her palms on her knees. Anything to abate the light-headed feeling that's making her a bit nauseated.
“Are you ok, Mum?” Josh leans down to see her face.
“You... go... on... finish... your... run... I’ll... catch... up.” Kate tries to force air into her lungs; they feel like they’re on fire.
“I think I’ll wait with you.” Josh doesn’t want to leave her alone in this state.
“Go on.” Kate feebly waves her hand at the rest of the path, why in God’s name hadn’t they remembered their water bottles from the car?
“Are you sure?” Josh doesn’t look convinced.
“Yeah.” Is all Kate manages to say.
“Alright.” Josh hesitantly agrees and starts jogging away, turning back every few steps to check on her.
Then Kate sees someone else, or more precisely their trainers, run past a few moment later and then the trainers turn and run back towards her.
“Are you hurt?” A soft female voice asks her in a Scottish accent.

Summary
Six years after Operation Lighthouse, Kate Fleming is back at AC-12, investigations into H solved and order restored.
After a promotion, her now 16-year-old son Josh insists on taking Kate out for a 'proper fancy' dinner at the trendy place in the city centre on his piddly Tesco assistant wages. She knows he's the best kid a mum could have.
She doesn't know that the restaurant's patissier is a familiar face her somewhat recently out-as-bisexual ass is nowhere near prepared to see.
