Clown turned around casually not registering the emotion Branzy's voice carried.

Summary
Grian is the owner of G-train the most well known train company because of the places it drives past from busy colourful cities to dreamy calm landscapes. The train is also well liked because of the goods available to be bought while on it. Despite being so well known there are not a lot of actual seats on the train and the waiting list to get on takes months.
Maybe that why Grian let a man wearing a ridiculous top hat on despite not having a ticket.
He wished he didn't.

OR Grian owns g train and then the train gets sucked up into a portal. All the passengers and staff on the train are now stuck in some weird world with terrifying beastly creatures. How are they meant to get back now?

Jimmy kinda had to admit: he might be in a little over his head. Just a smidgen.
Rock dust showered down over him as another shot hit the rock he was sheltering behind, his hat keeping most of it from his eyes. He clutched his hat as he ducked forward. Raising his revolver, he shakily checked his rounds, finding three bullets still in the chambers. A hand groped around for his ammunition pouch on his belt, drawing a few rounds out and trying to load them with a shaking hand.

Summary
What started out as a joke quickly turned into something more devastating.
None of the Hermits were excited for this exchange program, in honesty it sounded stupid to force them out of their well comforted school and home. Scar's friends weren't exactly happy he was the one picked for their social experiment either.
It ended up leading to a rabbit hole of a missing person's case, a teacher's suspicious death, ghosts, and a boy who adamantly refuses to where his uniform.
Scar didn't expect to uncover a cold case when he changed schools.
Or: A combination of the YHS lore where the hermits are able to intervene and help Grian.
