This is about a DnD game I'm in where my character is Iris who is a princess and the NPC is her Tiefling guard. They have been separated in canon and this is how I cope. Summary
This is another DnD game the is the same as the one Iris is in. This is my first character that isn't dead but faked her death sooo yeah. Her npc Air Genasi Boyfriend Tempest thinks she's dead so I wrote these to cope. This game is based off a video game but I can't know about it until the end of the campaign. Lavender is a human girl and Tempest is an Air Genasi. He used to be a pirate and Lavender is my favorite character. My GM also gave me permission to post these. As always if it is Canon or an AU it will be in the title.

Summary
The scar on Kevin’s left hand caught in the light with every movement under the soft rays of sun spilling into the room and over the bed. James could not take his eyes off his hands, the way his veins and knuckles shifted under his skin. But the scar. The scar always so prominent, a jagged white line against Kevin’s soft skin.
He couldn’t stop picturing all the times he’d seen the man anxiously flex his hand and rub over it. He traced it so often; at times it was like he had to remind himself it was still there. It unsettled James. There was more to this than the scattered bits of a story James could remember stumbling across on the internet. He didn’t want to google it again. It just didn’t feel right.
So, he steeled himself, taking a deep breath, and asked, “Kevin?”
Kevin hummed in response.
James stilled their hands, manoeuvring his own so he could run his thumb along the jagged line. “Will you tell me what happened here?”

The man bit his lip, considering, then held out his hand, “My name is James. It’s nice to meet you.”
Kevin stared at his hand for a beat, then took it in his own, “Kevin.”
James’ hands were soft and warm, and Kevin felt something strange and pleasant tingling in his palms where their skin met. He realised he had held on too long and quickly let go, feeling heat flood his cheeks in embarrassment.
Luckily, this James didn’t seem to notice, or he didn’t care. “What brings you here at this time of the night?”
“Couldn’t sleep,” Kevin said, the ridiculousness of it washing over him. He had never had this problem before.
