Scar sneered and lifted his bow. An arrow flew through the air before Martyn had any time to think. Instinctively, he lifted his shield to cover his face, but the arrow didn’t stick into his shield. Instead, it flew above him. Did Scar miss? No, it was not Martyn who Scar was aiming for. Martyn’s blood ran cold when Ren cried out in pain.
Martyn turned, and higher up on the roof, Ren fell to his knees. Martyn saw red, and in only a second, he traded his sword for his bow. “You shot my king!” Martyn bellowed.
After the skirmish at Joel's house, Ren takes an arrow to the eye. With Joel's loyalty in question, Martyn takes care of his king as best as he can.
