Blood running cold, he’s fully clothed yet he feels completely exposed, he’s already thrown up a dozen times but he’s about to do it once again as he bends down and the bile falls uncomfortably out his throat. Disgustingly, it paints the ground and he finds his eyes stinging around but he won’t let them fall instead he walks faster.
It feels like forever but eventually he walks through the door and Soda and Darry automatically look up with anxiety on their faces, he should have been home straight after school. They’re about to say something but Pony can’t be bothered to listen, instead he rushes to the bathroom because he needs to clean himself.
Or Ponyboy is raped by a group of socs.

Summary
Darry doesn’t like Ponyboy. It’s never exactly been spoken out loud but Pony knows how to read between the lines and it’s clear, just as clear as the themes in Macbeth, that Darry despises his younger brother. Ponyboy didn’t want to care but he wanted Darry to be happy with him.
Maybe it would all be better if he’d been sent to a boys home because he was just a bother.
Or Darry and Ponyboy never manage to make up after the slap.

Shortly after the death of Johnny Cade and Dallas Winston, Ponyboy completed breaks. He struggles to deal with the weight of these losses , as he still deals with his parent’s death as well.
