Summary
The new semester starts and Kaveh got a new room in a dorm called Weingarten. It’s a leftover from experimenting with alternative housing situations for Akademiya students, and so he doesn’t have to share bathrooms and common rooms with a whole floor. In fact, he doesn’t have to share with anyone. Or so he believes. Unbeknownst to him, Alhaitham shares the other half of their unit and hates every single second of it.
This is the story of how they grow to be not-the-world’s-worst-roommates and maybe (definitely) something more.

“What is… that?” Capitano asked.
He asked the question much in the same way one would react to stumbling upon a dead, dried out hydro slime in the middle of the woods. Initially unrecognizable and vaguely unsettling.
Ororon hardly thought ‘My Arranged Marriage to the Terrifying Frost Knight of the Underworld: But is He Truly as Evil as They Say!?’ warranted the same level of cautious disgust as that example.

Later, when Kaveh is cleaned and dressed and not in his sight, Alhaitham will feel the hot curl of shame like smoke in his lungs. But here, with Kaveh flushed and shivering beneath him, Alhaitham can only think of all the ways he wishes to claim this man, all the places he wants to carve his name into sun-freckled skin until Kaveh has no choice but to admit that they belong to each other, the way the flower owns the roots, the way the sky owns the stars.
