Summary
This is just a one shot. I just watched again the episode where Kenshin leaves for Kyoto and says his farewell to Kaoru (so hard to watch but so beautiful) and I needed to write something.
This takes place just after Kenshin, Sano and Aoshi return from defeating Shishio Makoto. Kenshin was being practically carried by Sano and was near death when they finally reached the Aoiya. He's recuperating at this point.Bookmarked by AprilShowersNFlowers

Summary
After Kenshin and Kaoru return to the Dojo after the long night and fight with Jine, there was some time spent healing and recovering. Jine's stab through Kenshin's left shoulder, Kaoru's binding and capture, and the aftermath of those have to be tended to. Two days of no sleep, a fruitless hunt for a murderer, then a long trek to a remote shrine, a blade through the shoulder, and then walking back for over six hours - Who just smiles and says, "I'm home," after that? No one.
