These were the basic rules Misty learned at the age of 8 when a group of mercenaries took her and her three sisters into their team. She lives by those five simple rules, closing her heart. That was, of course, until she met an annoying prince who made her see reality in a different way and who, to her dismay, managed to conquer her heart.
"Never tell your true goals, treat your peers with respect but don't let them forget who you are, inferior people aren't more important than you, and your Pokémon are your most powerful weapon."
Ash grew up with these rules, basic rules that he had to follow if he wanted to become king one day and make his family proud. Of course, most of the time he didn't follow them, but, in spite of being against him, he never had the courage to stand up to his father. Until he met the bravest girl he had ever seen, and at first she liked to bother him, but she helped him gather the strength he needed to finally make things right.
