Summary
Dazai hated Christmas.
It wasn’t even a justified hate either, if he was honest. He had plenty of trauma to be perfectly in the right to hate a lot of things, but Christmas was not among them. There was no tragic event linked to the holiday whatsoever.
He just…hated it.
Perhaps it was the hypocritical attitude most people took on during these festive days. Everyone tried to be just a little nicer. “Spread the warmth” and all that garbage. If they were an asshole the rest of the year, there wasn’t much value in behaving nicely for only a few days.
Or maybe it was the fact that everyone expected him to be fine and happy and giddy even more so than was expected of him usually. Keeping up his carefree, happy trickster façade took a lot of energy as it was, but during Christmas especially, his colleagues would scold him just a little harder for talking about suicide and the like.
Regardless of his reasons, Dazai hated Christmas. That much was fact.
‘Oi, stop daydreaming and help me put these decorations up!’
And of course, then there was Chuuya.
Chuuya loved Christmas.

Summary
His phone started ringing, a high pitched up-tempo song that at first made Chuuya cringe but he couldn’t change it once he listened to it. When asked about why he picked that song Dazai had flushed and mumbled something about Chuuya’s horrible music choices before Chuuya tugged him onto the couch.
“Aren’t you at work?” Chuuya tried sounding tired but he knew his tone was a little too light and airy to make it work.
“I am but I missed Chuuya,” He heard some of the ADA members sigh in annoyance. “Baby, I wanna see you already.”
“You’re staying over tonight right? After dinner?” Chuuya’s voice was small, maybe a little desperate, but he hasn’t slept next to Dazai in two weeks and he was starting to wake up with a shout at the back of his throat and curling into the side of the bed where Dazai would usually be.
“If Chuuya wanted me in his bed he only had to say so~” Dazai teases and he heard Ranpo’s laughter at someone’s reaction to that.
“Osamu, please stop making your coworkers hear you say these things.”
“If they could handle hearing Chuuya’s moans whenever he stays over then-“
“Stop or I’ll hang up.” Dazai abruptly stopped talking.
