The blonde sighed and closed his eyes, the familiar ringing starting up in his ears again as he started to count backwards from thirty.
At twenty, glass shattered and contorted voices screamed in his ears, leaving him almost deaf. He ignored them to the best abilities.
At fifteen, he felt the sensation of someone punching him in the face, the pain almost enough to make him open his eyes again.
At eight, something stung on his cheek, followed by the sensation of something dribbling down the skin. Something thick and warm.
At three, the screeching became unbearable.
At two, something snapped his wrist, the dull pain almost enough to pull him out. Almost.
At one, he felt the blade of a knife digging into the skin of his throat, the pain would follow soon after.
Zero.
or: Tommy is just some random dude who keeps getting attacked in his dreams by a particular bloodthirsty green Teletubby. Unfortunately, this leads to him not sleeping much and passing out on the Syndicate.

“You’re going.” A pile of papers sat in front of Technoblade. Grading, he had said. Apparently he had foregone all of it while setting up Tommy’s room, and was still struggling to catch up on it now. He looked stressed. Which is why Tommy thought it was the perfect time to pester him.
“I’m not. You’ll drop me off at school and I’ll leave as soon as you drive away.”Healing isn't linear. Tommy still has trauma from living with Dream, and the longer he stays with Technoblade, the clearer it is to see.

Dream would kill him. Dream was going to kill him- he was going to- no, he wouldn’t. Dream was his friend- friends don’t hit each other- Dream was supposed to take care of him- Dream /was/ taking care of him.
It hurt to breathe. It hurt to think. He couldn’t clear his thoughts as he stumbled to the family computer, pulling up a tab on google and frantically typing the name into the search bar.
The words Technoblade Watson stared back at him, the little black bar at the end of the letters blinking slowly, mocking him.
Why, of all people, did it have to be Technoblade?

Summary
In the long list of rules that Dream gave him, there were four that stuck out as the most important. Four rules that he could never break.
Stick close to the island when swimming. Always be back before seven. Never complain or hesitate to give Dream his pelt. And never, ever interact with humans.
Tommy didn’t break any of those rules often, and if he did it was a one time thing, a mistake. But this wasn’t a mistake. This was a very deliberate, very stupid move on his part and Dream would kill him if he knew what Tommy was doing. Fifteen years Tommy had lived here, and never once had he intentionally broken one of Dream’s rules. Until now.
He swims closer to the three humans.

Siren snorted. “No. I’m just here to order some food.”
“Wh-What about him?” The cashier asked, glancing at Tommy. “Did you- did you kidnap him?”
“I mean… yeah, let’s go with that in case this ends up on the news,” Siren shrugged, looking back at Tommy. “I kidnapped you, right?”
“Yeah, sure,” Tommy agreed, knowing that if they said he was kidnapped, it would keep people from getting suspicious of why he was seen in public with Siren. “Anyway, can I get the chicken nuggets happy meal, with a coke?”
or, how Tommy—who is not a hero, or a villain, or even a vigilante—saves the life of one of L'Manberg's most feared supervillains, and accidentally ends up becoming the resident doctor for every supervillain in town (and maybe gets a family along the way too).
