Summary
Arthur pretends to be drunk to avoid all the offers to dance at the feast. Surprisingly it's working. Too well... The ladies and servants are fooled, and so is Merlin. Arthur thinks he's come up with a genius plan that will get him everything he could wish for, but little does he know.
Meanwhile Merlin is suffering from afar (jk he's close, so close... too close)
“I’m afraid, prince Arthur needs to go lie down,” Merlin speaks up, apologising to Lady Aurelia. Then two strong hands haul him up and Arthur feels warm at the contact. He closes his eyes and tries not to smile.

“Oh, come now. The Sins of the Cities of the Plain, Venus in Furs, Gynecocracy.” Aziraphale’s voice pitched higher at the blank stare from the demon. “You’ve at least heard of The Pearl!”
Not even a hint of recognition.
He cleared his throat, staring pointedly at the dregs of wine remaining in his glass. “They’re…interesting. About…erm, human…romance, of a sort,” he explained, tripping over the last words and feeling his face heat further. When Crowley still stared blankly, Aziraphale pointedly added, “I was sure you had something to do with the entire genre, frankly.”
