Mello slips the first note into the pocket of his roommate’s math binder before he wakes up. He stayed up until midnight deciding on what to say and perfecting it. He meant to go to sleep and set a soft alarm to get up early, but the anxiety in his chest was so thick, he didn’t end up resting much at all.
The note is drawn on white stationary with a red border. Mello swiped it from one of the offices. He could’ve probably found something similar in the arts and crafts room, but everything in there always feels so kitschy. He doesn’t want to be that cringe-worthy kind of preteen that makes you want to puke with heart stickers and XOXOs. He just wants to… talk(?) to Matt…
The note reads “hey, you’re pretty cool, I like you,” with a small smiley face at the bottom. Mello doesn’t want to be too obvious or explicit, just in case Matt doesn’t feel the same way. It’s better to be vague and keep plausible deniability. Mello doesn’t want to fuck it up like he’s been fucking up everything else recently.
