He cupped the deer's face in his hands, it's eyes locked with his once more. "Mine's Toby, well that's what people know me by. You can call me Tubbo since you're a friend."
The air felt still in those few moments, the deer's pupils expanding, ears perking up as it watched the boy. Warmth burst in the boy's chest, his cheeks flushing with the pleasant warmth, eyes brightening slightly.
The buck stood, it's form shifting into that of a boy around Tubbo's age. Tubbo's eyes widened, scrambling back a bit as the boy—no, the Fae—stepped forward, a hand reaching towards him.
"Tubbo, huh?" The sound of his name coming out of the Fae's mouth sent shivers down his spine. It was laced with more, it tugged at Tubbo's core, calling to him. Safe, yours, want, need, safe. It made his head feel foggy, honey bursting on his tongue, warm blankets wrapped around him, the soft buzzing of bees with the backdrop of the wind through the trees, safe, comfort, home.
