    5 - “Naomasa! Your son is on the line with important information.”
    “What are you talking about, I don’t have--”
    “Midoriya is waiting!”
    Almost immediately the other line picked up. “Detective Tsukauchi speaking.”

    10 - “It’s an analysis of Present Mic that Dr. Meiji read to the class to show us that our analyses are lacking,” Uotani explained. “He kind of held it over our heads, telling us that the author had the same amount of formal training as we did.”
    “You did what?” Izuku yelped, looking at the professor with utter betrayal. “I wrote that when I was thirteen, it’s basically five pages of me being a fanboy.”
    “It’s brilliant,” Dr. Meiji argued. “Truly, a work of art.”

    11 - If it gets bad, pull Midoriya out. I don’t want to explain to Tsukauchi how we let his son get murdered.

    12 - “But I also know he’s one of the most capable Problem Children I’ve ever come across. I swear, when I find whatever fool of a pro-hero told him he couldn’t be one of us, I’m going to hang them upside down with my capture weapon.”

    13 - Nezu felt a strange kinship with Midoriya Izuku, he supposed. The boy bore so many of those signs of someone used and abused by humans, many of those signs that Nezu himself once bore. How the boy was so free of hatred and anger was a mystery, though.

    “And since the Stain incident, the other students have been leaving me alone.”

    14 - It had been obvious, in the beginning that this strange, wonderful boy had been hurt beyond what he should have been able to handle.

    16 - By the end of the car ride, Sohma was ready to adopt Izuku. He admired the boy’s resilience, and swore that one day he would find who had hurt the boy so deeply and give them a firm talking to before turning them over to Naomasa.

    20 - he said, feeling like the words were choking him. “They took Izuku.”

    This was intimate, no one saw inside his notebooks, not even Tsukauchi or Meiji. If you were lucky Midoriya would read your entry to you, but that was the closest anyone ever got.

    21 A pair of arms slipped around Izuku and someone was holding him tight, murmuring, “We have you Little Midoriya. You’re safe now.”
    Hearing the words “Little Midoriya” made Izuku feel like he could breathe again. His own arms snaked around Officer Saito even as she said into her radio, “We’ve got Little Midoriya. He’s safe now.”

    “I’m sorry! It was the only thing I could think of, Dad. I just --”

    22 - “Midoriya Izuku, I’m proud to announce that you are a pup no longer. As representative of Japan’s police force, I welcome you as our newest official member.”

    25 - "You’re Shota’s kid! And Tsukauchi’s! Whenever they get the chance, they both brag about you like you would not believe!"

    31 - It caught Izuku completely off guard when Tsukauchi stood, surging forward to wrap his arms around the boy.

    32 - “Naomasa, your son is here and panicking.”
    “Midoriya? Sorry Toshi, this is important.”

    “I don’t know where Naomasa found him, but that kid is meant for great things.”

    34 - “Tokusei used to beat me up at the Police Academy.”

    36 - Every eye was riveted on Izuku, every breath held for fear of enraging the beast they sensed before them.

    37 - “Fifty-three instances of you using the Snatch ‘n Sprint technique over three years,”
    “You’ve been so successful that the Police Academy is considering putting it in their textbooks.”

    “Midoriya Izuku, we the Japanese Police Department formally congratulates you on the achievement of becoming our newest and youngest Police Detective to serve on the force.”

    39 - There were a number of reasons that those who knew of “Deku” considered him a sort of urban legend, or a cryptid. Deku’s legendary status was only reinforced by the fact that no one could quite agree what his face looked like. In short, taking a makeup class ended up being one of the most valuable skills Midoriya Izuku ever learned. If the female officers forced him to do their makeup whenever they had a date coming up, that was their business.

    40 - “If pressed, he could likely kill every person in this room. At the very least, Deku could dismantle this entire organization in an afternoon.”

    42-“PUT YOUR GUNS DOWN!” he roared across the warehouse. People around him froze – this would doubtlessly spawn a whole slew of new Deku stories.

    43-He never gave up until the day that the Sludge Villain attacked, and it was like the villain had really killed him off. I was so scared he would actually…

    “I’m just trying to fathom what you could have said to leave him as unsure of himself as I found him.”

    Summary

    "Vla- no, not him." Shota scowled, he would rather give up all his naps than live to see the day where Sekijiro Kan of all people became his superior. "Snipe?!"

    "Not emotionally available at the moment as he is currently battling his romantic feelings for Kayama-san." Shota shot back down.

    "For the love of god-!"

    "As you can see, me appointing you as principal is the only logical decision available,"
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or: Nezu goes on a week long business trip and makes Aizawa the temporary principal while he's gone, giving him all the powers the principal of UA would normally have. Aizawa, prepared to use this power to it's full capacity, silently vows to make as many changes to UA as he can in a single week. He appoints Midoriya as his secretary for the time being and together they wreak havoc among the school, showing no mercy to any obstacle in their path (And maybe becoming father and son along the way). The rest of the staff and students are left to sit back and watch as everything they know goes up in flames.
    Summary
    If they wouldn’t give him a chance then the solution seemed simple, he’d give himself one. He’d force the world to see him, force them to recognize his hard work. He wasn’t missing a quirk, it was simply that everyone else had been given an advantage. He wasn’t broken, or useless, or incapable, and he’d prove it by outrunning all of them, he who was quirkless, he who had started in last.
    [UA rejects Midoriya from the hero course and he finds salvation in vigilantism.]
    Bookmarker's Notes
    21 “I’m going to hunt that bastard to the ends of the earth if that’s what it takes to save her. He should’ve kept me dead,” Midoriya spits, lips pulled into a sneer behind his mask. “I won’t let him have her. I won’t be so weak next time.”
    29 Who dropped it off? Who’d left me the food? Who was it that apologized?
    “You’re a good man, Detective… C̵͎̃al̷l a̵̟̿n̵ a̷͙̚mḇ̴̊ula̵͇͌nç̷̛e̵.... Má̸̬ke̵̥̐ sů̴͚re̵̹̍ he's taken care of"
    (Sorry about before.)
    49 And look what they did to him! Look what they did, Sansa! He died alone!" He slams his fist into the table, voice breaking. “They took his teeth,” he cries, “They took his eyes."
    50 “He’s dead, Oboro,” Aizawa’s voice is strained. “The kid that saved me is dead.”
    58
    59 “It wasn’t that bad,” Izuku tries, “It’s not like she told me to kill myself.”
    “Why is that your standard for behavior?” Reo asks, his disbelief obvious, “Have other people told you to do that?”
    It’s only meant to be a rhetorical question, but Izuku falls silent nonetheless.
    Reo pales. “Are you serious?” then, “Was it someone here?”
    64 It’s just… an apology—a promise, that I’ll do better in the future, that I am doing better.” He scrubs at his eyes. “Reo, without you, there would be no Piper. No Red Sun. No Midoriya Izuku. You made me into the person I am now. You saved me––taught me, more than anyone else in this life ever will. How to cherish myself, how to take care of myself, how to love myself in the same way you love me. You were the first person to tell me I could be a hero, knowing that I was quirkless, knowing who I was. You were the first person to believe in me. Before there was anyone else, there was you,” Izuku croaks, swallowing harshly where he can feel his emotions building up. “There’s always been you.”
    67 “Despite your notorious title of vigilante, it seems that you are, in the end, nothing but a child, Piper.”
    Because Piper is alive; because Piper is Midoriya––Reo’s best friend. The kid that’d been hiding under his nose all this time. All those months ago when he’d interviewed the boy his statement: ‘I’m not a vigilante’ had come back as a lie. But Midoriya had explained the phenomenon away and Naomasa hadn’t even thought to push any deeper.
    And then Piper died. Or, at least, that’s what everyone was made to believe. But Piper is fighting just ahead of him. He has a new name, a new disguise, but underneath it all the same boy remains.
    Midoriya Izuku.
    “I’m sorry it took so long to find you again."
    Naomasa approaches from the side looking him over as if to memorize his face or check him for wounds.  “You’re him.” It’s not a question. His voice is soft, reverent, his face twisted in a mask that’s four parts disbelieve and six parts awe.
    Izuku glances up at the man, fear returning like Mercury in retrograde. He looks between the detective and Aizawa. “No one can know,” Izuku whispers hoarsely, a desperate plea, a prayer he doesn’t expect to be answered.
    But Naomasa crouches next to them, quiet, studying him before slowly, surely, pulling the both of them into a tight hug. “You’re alive,”
    68 Aizawa doesn’t know what to think of the boy in the ambulance across from him. Everything feels stilted and off-balance because this is Piper. The kid he’d fought alongside at the USJ, the kid he’d trusted to protect his students, the kid he’d thought died trying to protect him. Who had carried him up those hundred steps, even in his injured state.
    Because there’d been a body—laid across the sands of Dagobah. Naomasa had seen worse in his time as a detective, but none had impacted him quite like the state Piper’s had been in. The sight—the smell. Because that’d been a kid, his kid. One that’d left him food as an apology, one that’d entrusted him with Overhaul’s case, one whose biggest regret was not saving the girl they’d just carried out in their arms.
    Summary
    “His quirk will get attention no matter where he goes. But if he ends up working with heroes then he’ll have their protection. That’s why I said most doctors and nurses have minor healing quirks- because people with powerful ones often catch the attention of heroes, who will in turn protect them from any villains who also have their eye on them.”
    “Oh! Okay. Okay… this… this is a lot…. Heh, and I was worried he’d breathe fire…”
    “Don’t ever forget- Izuku’s quirk is a good thing. He just needs to be a bit more careful than most children.”
    _________
    Midoriya Izuku wants to become a hero. Midoriya Izuku is born with a healing quirk. He learns how to save people a different way.
    10 - “You know,” Todoroki says lowly, coming to stand in front of Izuku while keeping his gaze on the offending reporters, “Most people wouldn’t dare lay a hand on a healer.” His eyes narrow dangerously. “Heroes tend to be protective of them.”
    23 - eyedrops for Aizawa
    28 - The boy’s eyes widen as the pain disappears in seconds. “There you go, all better.”
    He lets go of Kota’s hand. Kota looks at it in awe, flexing his fingers a couple of times, then turns his wide-eyed gaze to Izuku.
    Izuku smiles. Kota’s cheeks flush and he quickly glances away.
    40 - Zuku. How does he do this to them? Doesn’t even have a combative quirk, and yet he has such a terrifying amount of power over the two strongest students of class 1-A. Probably everyone in class 1-A, if not the entire school at this point.
