Summary
The military, like the rest of the world had adapted to the shift in dynamics, but unlike everyday life, here a heat or a rut could throw a delicate operation into chaos and cost lives. They got around that by controlling it. Suppressants on a cycle to avoid any permanent damage to the soldiers’ biology. Three months off, then a month break. Rinse and repeat. Taskforces like theirs had a bit more flexibility, because of the nature of their missions – sometimes they couldn’t take the time out to use the mandated accommodation to deal with biological demands; but any deviations and delays were reported to medical, and evaluations were had every time they returned from a mission.
Soap should be covered, he should be solid. The mission comes first, and he's got Ghost at his back. He's solid... until he isn't.

On one hand, it was a stroke of genius to use the PA system to broadcast Lúcio’s crossfade across the entire town, supporting both their teammates and the civilians and the emergency services trying to help them... on the other hand it was going to be hanging a giant bullseye over Lúcio because he would be tied to the system; literally hooked up to it – and he knew Lúcio. Knew that there was more chance of the Sun and Moon trading places, than his partner unhooking himself to flee.

---Soap tilts his head obediently, seeing the glare of the torch being turned back on and hearing the rustling of Ghost rummaging through pockets until he finds what he's looking for. Groaning softly as the light makes his eyes burn, he lets his head fall forward until it bumps against the shoulder of the other man's vest, feeling the way his muscles tense and his grip tightens where he's still holding onto Soap with one hand.
"You going to sleep on me again, Sergeant? Don't recall giving you permission," Ghost asks, slowly relaxing again once Johnny stops moving and he can see the back of his head again.
"And if I am?" He mumbles it with a soft huff of exertion, letting his eyes slip for just a moment before he shakes his head in clarification. "I'm not gonnae sleep on yis."

Summary
Soap makes a choked off noise of pure, unadulterated panic, and then he’s floating, drifting far away as his ears ring from the sound of multiple bombs going off.
When he comes to, he only gets to be happy that he’s somehow still alive for a moment, because everything hits him all at once. Pain explodes from every single part of him he can feel, and he wants to scream. He doesn’t, instead trying to take a deep breath to ground himself, but there’s rubble on top of him that’s unyielding, restricting his every breath.
His breath catches in his throat; focus, MacTavish. Assess your situation before you start panicking.
or, Soap gets trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building, and makes the (stupid) executive decision to omit that piece of information to the rest of 141. No one is happy about this when they find out.
