Summary
When Vergil wakes up, he's covered with curse sigils all over his body, with a face that wasn't his, a skin that wasn't his, a body that wasn't his. Vergil comes to a quick and yet dreadful realization. He was brought back alive.
Whoever the owner of this body was, they were gone in exchange for his soul.***
AU where Vergil died at the end of DMC1, V wasn't Vergil in the first place, and they had a deal.
Co-starring: Dante being protective, Griffon being secretive, and Nero being supportive.Bookmarked by AkiYukiru

He's never shied away from a challenge, and he refuses to let fatherhood be the one he fails at- especially when Vergil knows better than anyone the horrible fate that lies before a child with no one to protect him.

Summary
A young boy with white hair and baby blue eyes, no older than four if he had to guess, was standing his ground in front of some older kids. That boy…he wasn’t an ordinary child. V could tell just by looking at him. He had demonic power, only a little but it was still there. He could feel a pull towards him, one that was indescribable other than paternal instinct. If there was one thing he was absolutely certain about, it was that this boy was his son.
----------------
V escapes from Mundus and finds himself in Fortuna, and discovers that he has a son waiting for him. Determined to right his wrongs, he decides to adopt him and be the father he never knew he was. Of course, trying to raise a quarter-demon child isn't easy, especially when V doesn't know what he's doing, but parenting is a learning experience in itself as he's about to learn.

Summary
“I just wanna look, Vergil. I’m not gonna actually leave.” Dante says, pressing his forehead against Vergil’s. “I’d miss you and mom and dad too much.”
“Mother left the human world for father,” Vergil points out, staring straight into his reflection’s eyes. It’s how the famous tale of Eva and Sparda came to be told across the Underworld, how a witch willingly gave her soul up and fell from the Overworld to be with a demon, together ruling one of the largest territories in the realm.
So Dante gives him his word to never truly leave, that he’ll always come back to Vergil because while his childish curiosity demands to be sated, his heart will always be with his brother. Vergil chooses to believe him, because doing otherwise would do neither of them good.
They were born from the same flame, one soul split into two. Vergil thought he'd always have Dante at his side, to grow into their father's mantle and rule the Underworld together.
