    Floyd’s voice came again, quieter this time, and closer too, the mer’s breath hitting Riddle’s skin right above his forehead. Riddle could feel Floyd’s arms tightening slowly, his body soaking Riddle in warmth, warmth that Riddle couldn’t help but crave, warmth that Riddle tried and failed to push away.

    “It’s okay, Goldfish.” Floyd pressed a kiss to Riddle’s cheek, soft and sweet, short but protective. “I love you.”

    Riddle dreads having to return home for the holidays. Floyd is there to comfort him.
