When a freak storm leaves SecUnit stranded on a planet known to have alien synthetics, its clients believe it to be dead. Unfortunately for this murderbot, it's very much alive! But for how long?
ART gets the news of Murderbot's ‘death' and vows to bring its body home. It has no idea its self imposed mission has become a race against time! Will ART get to the planet in time to save Murderbot?
An AU loosely based on The Martian by Andy Weir. Written as part of the Murderbot Diaries big bang event of 2024.

Most of this is canon-compliant Gen until you get to the Murderathin (MB/Gurathin) stories near the end, after Skulk. That's also where you'll find the only bits out of chronological order, with a couple stories from Gurathin's youth.

Summary
ART is finally scheduled to return to Preservation, but Murderbot has no idea what to do. Should it confront ART about the vivid hallucinations it’s been experiencing (hallucinations that appear to actually be ART's fantasies)? Murderbot doesn’t want to jeopardize its relationship (ew) with ART, but it’s also not sure if things can ever be the same.
