When she is older, the brothel wraps Yotsuyu in silk every day. Embroidered emeralds, violets lush enough to shine nearly black in the light. Fine fabrics which are wasted on her, coming second-hand from better houses so that they can wrap up their courtesans like tea cakes waiting for the first touch of a mouth to consume them.
She wears it all, dry-eyed, and never leaves a stain.
