He doesn’t understand her point until she pushes him away from her and backs up against the brick wall behind her. She breathes heavily for a moment, looks at him like she’s considering her words.

Karnesworth Robin Hood AU
Martin Karnes was the True King, on a quest to reclaim the throne of Belmoor. He succeeded, but not before he sustained fatal injuries in the final battle for the crown. Since then his brother, Lord Spencer, Duke of Kilhear, has reigned in his name. Lord Kilhear also took in King Martin’s daughter, Karina, vowing to the people that in time he would cede power to her. But years have passed, and King Spencer is no closer to fulfilling his vow than he was the day he ascended the throne. Lady Karina lives sequestered in the palace, fed full of lies about the state of the kingdom; meanwhile, King Spencer lays waste to the land’s resources in a never-ending quest for power. The people, who were once loyal to King Martin as the True King, now live in fear of the king they have named the True Bastard.
Lord Connor of Falsworth was the first to swear his fealty to King Martin, and the first to rebel against Lord Spencer. Exiled to the Blue Forest, he has gathered a small band of outlaws to fight against Lord Spencer’s tyranny.
