  1. Summary

“In childbirth, grief begins.” ― Euripides, Medea
Broken adults birth sad children. Vivien Mallory Beauchêne used to be a sad child, living with her full but unhappy family in their big but empty house. When she was accepted to Hogwarts, it was supposed to be a new beginning.
She had reunited with her childhood friends. She had made new friends; she had lost old friends. She had made enemies; she had lost her nemesis.
Regulus Arcturus Black, the one and only that she vowed her hatred to. Did she want to rip the curls out of the scalp of that sweet, poor, and sometimes dumb boy? Oftentimes, yes. But for every day of unclear words, tears, and fights, came a night full of kisses, cuddles, and sweet nothings, which were Vivien's everything. Vivien was afraid of the darkness, but Regulus was her star. He was her light. She was a moth, obsessively depending on her light. But not to Regulus. To him, Vi could never be too much. No matter how much she would consume of him, it would always be too little. She was the source of his life; she gave it meaning. Something worth living for when Regulus Arcturus Black used to be a sad child too. To him, she was a butterfly. She was spectacular—wild, but so delicate.
