“Hey Clark!” Jimmy grinned. “How’s the arctic?”
“Cold.”
“How’s the dog?” Lois smirked.
“Energetic.” Clark replied tiredly. “Training is going—” Clark glanced up at the clatter of something in the entryway. He heard paws storming through the hallway, a sudden blur of white and a chilly breeze scattered his notes as his sandwich was expertly plucked from his hand. "Well."
Clark sighed.
Jimmy and Lois cracked up on the other end of the line.

Summary
When Clark was 13 he discovered he was an alien and his entire life as a human so far was a lie. Being an alien meant that there are lots of weird things about Clark that couldn't be explained by science. A Red String of Fate just happens to be one of those things.
One day, on the other end of the string, Lois fell to the ground clutching a hand to her heart.
Love can be painful but it doesn't have to be.

Summary
“Morning Clark!” Jimmy chirped from the ceiling above the desk.
“Good morning, Jimmy!” Clark yawned, stretched, and got up to make coffee. He got as far as measuring out the coffee grounds and even started to fill the glass carafe before he stopped and turned around to stare at Jimmy.
Jimmy grinned cheerfully. If he could move his hand to wave, he would have.
“Um—” Clark stared, rather bug-eyed, at his friend, he set the glass carafe down and missed the counter entirely. He barely managed to catch it and fumbled it until he set it safely on the counter. “Jimmy!”
“I’m stuck.” Jimmy tried, fruitlessly, to move.
