The young director of the Yun-Han Opera Troupe is stuck in quite the predicament when, during her honeymoon trip to the temple after her marriage to the poet-scholar Xingqiu, she falls in love with a fiery woman with admirable musical talent. They vow to be together for the rest of their lives as Yun Jin persuades her husband to take her in as a concubine. Their union is however opposed by the elders and troupe members oh so close to the famed opera star.

Lumine has always had a strange connection to nature, especially flowers. They always grow toward her and around her, and she can even communicate with them to a point. Except for her parents, no one knows about her secret powers and she intends to keep it that way.
This becomes much harder when she moves in with Yun Jin, her new clingy college roommate.

Yun Jin hummed, scribbling a few random notes in her notebook, leaving behind loops of blue glittery ink on the pale pages. Xinyan beamed across the table at her, eyes soft as she tapped the tip of her pencil to the page, the little plastic cat head at the end bobbling with every movement. Yun Jin giggled, reaching out and batting at it, and Xinyan squawked in mock outrage.
