What if Mulan and Li Shang knew each other since they were children? What if Mulan had one more reason to go to war?
Mulan met Li Shang when they were 7 and 10. After they began to grow up, at 17 Li Shang had to go to the military, but Mulan dutifully stayed at home. After years she was still unsuccessful with men, but it seems like Li Shang already had a fiance, someone with equal social status and the proper bearing. After Mulan discovered she is irrevocably in love with Li Shang, but she can't have him, she began to throw up petals. She knew she was already dying, so why can't she die instead of his father?
Mulan has hanahaki disease, because she is in love with Shang

Summary
We are on the Great Wall. A guard hears a strange sound and goes to look where it's coming from. He looks out to see, and suddenly, grappling hooks have just hooked onto the edge of the wall, the sound echoes through the night.
The guard stares in complete shock at all the men who are quickly climbing to reach the summit. He goes up the stairs on the tower before one of them cuts them off.
He watches in utter shock as a big and strong built man lands on the ground in front of the grill. The short guard immediately grabs the torch in the corner and shoves it in the grill, causing a big fire to form.
All the other guards see the signal and also light up their grill.
"Now all of China knows you are here."
The guard looks the taller man dead in the eyes with an angry and determined expression only to be caught off guard as the Huns leader picks up the flag and puts it over the fire, making it burn.
"Perfect."

Mulan, hero of China, the saviour of her country, recognised and decorated by the emperor himself, went down in history as a young woman who risked everything to save her father from a tragic death in the war against the Mongols, however, she always felt that something was missing in her life, on her deathbed at an advanced age she begs her ancestors for a second life so that she can be the woman she was never allowed to be.
Little did she know that the gods would listen to her silent prayer granting her the gift of returning to the earthly world she longed for, sadly this gift comes with a price, now the young woman's old soul must get used to a modern age full of new challenges, friends, enemies and loves, all while fighting to restore her family's lost honour, can our young warrior face these modern challenges while struggling with the decision of which man her heart should choose.
