“Ah, I see.” Katya quips.
“See what?” Childe asks, as his greedy fingers drum against the package.
“The letter is your reward for all the work.” Katya states and Childe’s eyes widen.
“In your reply to Mister Zhongli, please tell him to write you more often so that you can use his letters as your motivation for boring paperwork.” Katya suggests and she is in fact being serious but her silly statement has Childe sputtering.
“What nonsense are you spouting?” Childe grumbles, cheeks flaming red. “Now, leave me be.”
Katya puts up her hands in mock defence, a sly smile on her face. “Sure… You need the privacy after all. Especially because Mister Zhongli has sent another gift this time around.” Katya teases as she makes her hasty exit.
“I will have you demoted you know!” Childe’s reprimand meets empty air as he’s left alone once more.

“So work,” Keqing simplifies instantly, not wanting to touch that madness with a seven-foot pole.
“What are the Tsaritsa’s intentions for you coming to Liyue.”
“Honestly?” Childe hums. “No damn clue. I mean, she dumped me in Natlan for over half a decade—then boom! Out of nowhere, I get a reassignment when I’ve been asking for one for nearly five-fucking years.”
“I fucking hate Natlan—three out of ten—would not recommend.”
