Summary
Even in the face of fifty plus years at the Mosaic…five years together in this life still felt like an amazing achievement to Eliot. Five years he never thought they’d have. Grateful for every day, even when he was floundering in the fear that he didn’t know how to do this. Until Quentin caught him with a laugh, a kiss, a “Hey” with smiling eyes.
In Quentin he found the home, happiness, and love he’d never had before in this life. He wanted to do something for Quentin that matched the magnitude of what Quentin had given him.
Of course, the best-laid plans are bound to go sideways, when magic’s involved.
On the afternoon of their five-year anniversary, Julia calls Eliot to tell him Quentin will be late for dinner.
“I don’t know why, but three portals malfunctioned at once. The third one got detached somehow and connected to an unknown world. Don’t worry, Q’s fixing them.”
“Don’t worry! Detached portals! Unknown worlds!” He could barely speak, his throat was so tight. “Tell him to wait. I’ll be right there.”
“El, I don’t know what to tell you. He’s already gone.”
It hit him like a sudden brick to the chest.

Summary
“A drinking game, duh… something fun that’ll let us get to know each other a little better. Share our dirty secrets, craziest stories, weirdest thing we’ve ever been caught doing… The naughtier the better.” Margo winks.
“An icebreaker, Bambi? How pedestrian.” Eliot sighs.
Hopefully he can make it through this without the others discovering that a certain someone holds status as an urban legend in his hometown. Maybe he’ll get lucky and make it through another night without being recognized.

Summary
His secret is out. His real name isn't Sir El von Waugh, who hails from Braekenbillzen. He's not a knight at all. He's just a peasant. One who lied and cheated his way into competing in dozens of tournaments, just to chase after his dreams that a man can change his stars. But now, there's nothing left for him to do, except stand in the city square, locked in the stockade, and await the judgement of those he deceived. Eliot Waugh is ready for whatever hardship may come. He's more than used to it. Until the worst happens, and his friends show up to his defense, knowing full well that saving him might cost them their own lives.
Written for The Magicians Monthly Prompt Challenge, "Royalty."

Summary
He keeps stumbling across the others tucked away in all its corners, washed up like survivors of some great storm. They collect in ones and twos: here in the kitchen, here on the stairs, here on the balcony, here just outside the bathroom. Like they’ve come unspooled and settled where they’ve fallen only to scrape themselves up long enough to eke out something in the shape of living. They’re all adrift in the big, hollow sea of an apartment, and he’s the shipwreck, half sunk, all ribs and spars dragging them down.
It's a long road back to okay, but they're managing it as best they can, and they're managing it together, and that's the part that matters.

Summary
Eliot waved his arms, nearly spilling the sparkling water. He said, “I don’t have bad sex, okay? I’m not built like that.” That was a lie, the ghosts in his happy place knew how much that was a lie. What he meant was that he didn’t have bad sex with Quentin. They never had, it was like a law of nature or something. Except tonight was apparently going to break a 53-year record, goddammit.
“Well, you certainly had bad something,” Margo said.
Or: look, everybody hits a slump sometimes, okay?
