It felt as if the entire world had turned it's back on him. He felt helpless, almost unable to breathe. The feeling one might get when they are Drowning. The helplessness and the desperation. Wei Ying felt it all. He only wished for someone to walk inside his life, he only wished to be loved once again.

Or Wei wuxian dies, somehow alongside entire dafan wen sect time travels years back, Dafan wens creates a sect the Yiling Wei sect and wwx thinks he is completly alone but is not.

After watching his husband; his son; nephew; brother and little radishes dying in front of him one by one because of a source of resentful energy; Wei WuXian dies too as he destroys it.
But instead of darkness; he finds himself back in the past when he had just gotten kicked out of the cloud recess and everything looks so peaceful he can’t stand it. No…no no no he really can’t go through this hell again. Not again. Not after everything was supposed to be over.
Not knowing that Lan WangJi has been thrown back in time as well; he tries; and fails at taking his own life by slitting his throat open in the middle of lotus pier and so; he decides to show everyone the future.
If he’s going to live this hell again; he’s going to change it and if these people are suddenly so determined to keep him alive; then he’s not going to let them die either.It doesn’t matter if they end up hating him just as much as he hates himself.
(Or; another time travel fix-it which happens to be a watching the show fic as well! With our favorite baby boy and his husband; all their ducklings and their very much alive family and friends from the past.)

A happy ending depends on where you stopped the story. Wei Wuxian had never put much faith in such an idle saying.
But his story had ended over a decade ago, and the world had moved too far forward for him to find his own place. What use was a nightmares role in a time of peace, except to hide away and retreat from everyone else's happy ending?
It isn't upsetting. He has people in this world who love him, even if he can't be with them. And it's good, to be alone, figure out how the world has changed under his own standing. Honestly, he's fine alone.
Fortunately, the people who love him refuse to let him be lonely. And sometimes it takes a third chance for the souls to click back into place.
(The one where Wei Wuxian travels alone, only to find home in the place he never dared to hope for. Or alternatively, the one where Lan Zhan holds his soulmate and tells him he can stay.)

Opening his eyes confirmed, to his significant irritation, that Wei Wuxian was not actually in the Caiyi town market anymore. He wasn’t even in a bed! Not his and Lan Wangji’s bed in the Jingshi or his rooms at either Lotus Pier or Koi Tower. He had lots of beds to choose from at this point — a frankly unreasonable number, which was not something he had ever really expected for himself, certainly not when for a while his only bed had been a sleeping mat next to a blood pool. But despite this plethora of options, he was still tossed into some dingy corner on an unfamiliar floor. He was feeling rather offended by it all.
The sad excuse for kidnappers before him didn't improve his opinions on the situation.

Summary
Wei Wuxian had already made his mark on the cultivation world and he knew it. He had been a nuisance and a war hero and a threat and the stain of true evil and then he had died. Whatever place he had once carved for himself was shed at some point in those thirteen years. Now, having been revived, a man displaced from time, he could accept that he didn't really belong anywhere except perhaps at Lan Wangji's side. And that should be enough, because Lan Wangji's side was the best place in the world to belong. It didn't matter if none of the other sects wanted anything to do with him, or the fear and scorn that other cultivators met him with. Really, it didn't.
The juniors disagree.
