Summary

Wan blinks, caught off guard by the question. Why, indeed? Her mother once told her that beautiful things are meant to be loved, and at this moment, Pleng is the most beautiful thing she has ever seen. She shrugs, her voice quiet. “You’re pretty,” she says softly. “And you’re s’posed to love pretty things.”
