Emily Williams is hospitalized after an anxiety attack triggers one of the worst asthma attacks she’s ever had, thanks to the asshole cops attending her father’s memorial and the whispers blaming Detective Kennex. Upon her release she sits with John while waiting on her ride, and finds herself drawn to him. She visits him every day, opening up to him in a way she never could with anyone other than her adoptive parents.
The day John meets her is the day he meets Dorian. There’s something familiar about her, but he can’t place it.
