Summary
Quinn tries his best to appear happy, or happy enough that no one questions him. It’s not like he’s sad, exactly - he’s overjoyed for his brother to be drafted and so proud of him for going fourth overall. Just like he was beside himself when Jack went first overall.
The issue is… well, the issue is complicated. It’s mostly jealousy, mixed with a heaping scoop of loneliness and a sprinkle of insecurity. Jealous that his brothers will get to play together, lonely because they’ll be together without him, and insecure because - well, first and fourth overall. Not seventh.
So he pastes a smile on his face and knows that no one will look deeper because no one ever does look deeper at him. Even if he wasn’t smiling, they’d probably just think it was normal, because Quinn being serious or unhappy is normal. Jack’s the one with boundless energy and enthusiasm, and he’s certainly showing that now, and Luke takes after Jack more than Quinn, though a bit more toned down than Jack’s golden retriever demeanor. He’s practiced at putting up a facade, pretending things don’t matter to him when they actually do, setting aside his own wants and needs for his brothers’.

Summary
Alexandar could not believe it.
Well, he could believe it, in the sense that this is the NHL, and injuries happen all the time. But it always manages to work against him.
It had been since May that Pavel was first hurt, which didn't help with the stress that came with the role of being the Avalanche's new starting goaltender, no matter how long he had officially been there. Frankie was always there to back him up, he was always Georgie’s support both on and off the ice.
Until May.
Then they got kicked out of the playoffs by the Avs’ old goaltender and Frankie got surgery over the summer. Those stung a lot.
Then October. The surgery didn't heal all the way. Frankie was still hurt.
Then November. He left back to Czechia per the team's suggestion, deemed to be unable to play for this entire season. Possibly never again in the NHL, or, at least, for the Avs.

Summary
There was a bunch of messy hair and a pointy nose sticking up out of the water when Tyson got to the baths the next morning. Tyson didn’t know who they belonged to and he didn’t care. It was Squadron Five’s time to bathe and he had been looking forward to it all day. He climbed in eagerly and relaxed back with a sigh, poking the owner of the nose with his toe just to be friendly. Commander MacKinnon erupted out of the water and Tyson reeled backwards. “Sorry sir,” Tyson said, horrified. He had not anticipated finding this in the bath; it was like suddenly discovering a crocodile was in the tub with him.

A collection of AU chapters, outtakes and unused scenes for This Time Next Year and Mary Penner's Great Grandson.
I love annotated DVD versions of long fics and all the little extras so I am sticking all this here in one multichapter work in case anyone else wants to read it. First couple chapters are extra chapters written for plot points I ultimately didn’t use for TTNY, then a bunch of smaller bits that were cut, and finally several chunks from Mary Penner’s Great Grandson that didn’t fit in the original story.Series

Unknown Number: Congrats on going 1st overall, bud! It’s a good club to be in. I’m sure with Taylor and Ryan on your team, they’ve got you covered in first overall advice, but if you need anything, don’t hesitate to reach out. I know it can get a bit crazy some years with all the media hype and I’m not sure Taylor or Ryan dealt with as much of it as you have to.
Unknown Number: This is Sid, by the way.
Connor’s jaw drops. Sidney Crosby, texting him. Holy shit.

Summary
Tyson is one of the rare Omegas, born only into religious communities and destined for an arranged marriage. His husband is abusive and Alpha Nathan MacKinnon rescues him. Religious divorce requires they have nothing to do with each other for 7 years. Posting 1 chapter a day.
Nate rides in there hell for leather and circles once, Molly falling in with his plans for a change and gets the lay of the land. Just as he’d thought, the Alpha, Landeskog, had pasted the Omega who was still lying on the ground out cold. Landeskog is just standing there, staring down at him looking worried. Terrifyingly, there’s a large kitchen knife lying on the ground between them. “What the hell was that?” Nate yells and Landeskog looks up at him. Nate jumps off Molly and goes to see if the Omega is still breathing, at least; it was one thing to smack your wife - they wouldn’t have it in their family but Nate’d seen it occur and he wouldn’t fight a man automatically over it - but to punch at the head with a closed fist, so hard that one blow knocked a person out, that was well over the line. He bends to roll the Omega over from where they lie, a pitiful crumpled heap, and suddenly Landeskog barrels into him.

Tyson notices Nate’s shoulders; Nate manages not to come in his pants or say “I love you" and they grow a little closer.

Summary
Nathan is training to become a messenger of the crown. He’s slowly worked his way onto the royal staff, only being a simple farmhand for most of his life. Tyson, on the other hand, wanted to be a knight, just the same as any other young boy, but wasn’t willing to place himself in danger for a brief moment of glory. Instead, he’s become one of the kingdom’s most beloved baker’s, and has taken a position within the castle.
When the two meet each other by complete accident, the two strike up a tentative friendship. But when Nathan is sent away on a mission that nearly gets himself killed, there is a bond that is formed that goes beyond normal boundaries of close friendship. As they navigate their feelings for one another, they also have to decide if their love is worth risking everything for.

Summary
Out of necessity Nathan MacKinnon, poor orphan boy, accepts an offer to marry Tyson Barrie, wealthy Omega.
“What!?” Tyson yelped, a little muffled by the date. “What? This one here?” He looked at Nate very doubtfully. “I don’t want to marry you,” Tyson said to Nate petulantly.
“Fine with me,” Nate said, shrugging. He’d gone along with Jordie’s suggestion when he heard the amount of money he was offering but it had never seemed real; even now it didn’t seem plausible. Still, it seemed real enough to Jordie, who was audibly grinding his teeth at this exchange.
Set in the 1870s - Very rare Omegas are born only into ultra observant religious communities and are highly prized. Tyson makes a misstep and has to marry Nate.

Summary
His real true love was hockey. Unlike relationships, his captaincy wasn't for show. This was where he excelled; this was where all his effort, passion and love went, to the sport and his team. He strived to know his teammates well, tried to ensure that nobody slipped under the cracks or got left behind. At least, most of them didn't. There was a tricky Russian behemoth that Gabe struggled to connect with, despite attacking at all angles. The English slowly improved over the months but the wall between them never seemed to budge.
