Summary
Following the events of A Light in the Mist, Shadowsight feels... empty and lost. In his mind, he doesn't fit in with his Clan, and he wants to escape from it all. The Clans are experiencing a new time of change. Confronted with new threats and new codes, Shadowsight finds himself divided between the bonds of family, love, and friendship. All he wanted was some peace in his life, but turmoil and rivalry pulled him back into conflicts of Clan life that he never wanted to be a part of.

Shadowpaw just wants to prove that he can be the best medicine cat in ShadowClan, and how could he achieve that if he was just one ordinary cat? He'd had visions, sure, but they have been getting less and less useful every day. Everything changes once he hears a little voice in his head.
Bristlepaw had always wanted to be the best warrior she could ever be, and with her assessment coming, she hopes that she pass it by bringing so much prey that it'll be impossible to carry it all by herself!
Rootpaw feels embarrassed that he has a father like Tree, he just wished he could hide in the apprentices' den everytime he was near him. He keeps getting teased and mocked by the two older apprentices he shares a den with... But things change once a certain problem arises from a certain clan...
Shadowpaw, Bristlepaw, and Rootpaw have to save the clans from a dangerous threat to the lake territories. If they don't stop it... It might as well be over for the clans.
