Edward Teach is unhappy. He's lived in the same place, had the same job, done the same thing day after day for ten years, and it's getting boring. His heart lies elsewhere, and he hasn't the slightest clue where. And then he bumps into the most beautiful man he has ever seen.

Stede finds Ed, Ed finds himself. Izzy gets a chance to heal.
Stede Bonnet has been keeping the lighthouse off of Bridgetown for nearly 2 years, keeping to himself, largely content. One night the worst storm Stede has ever seen rolls across the horizon, bringing a surprise the lighthouse keeper could have never expected.
This fic will have a mix of plot & smut. I will mark the chapters with nsfw content in the chapter title, and any plot important happenings will be summarized in the following chapter. Future chapters may vaguely reference those scenes as well, but won’t be explicit.
Chapters with more triggering content will have a warning at the start of the chapter. Canon-typical violence will not be mentioned in these warnings as it applies to the whole story, so it will come up from time to time.
We will be digging into Izzy Hands, Blackbeard, and Stede's traumas- maybe even some others-
When I tell you this is going to be the fluffiest fluff mixed with the smuttiest smut, with a smattering of good old fashioned trauma. I am not exaggerating in the slightest this shit is a roller-coaster.

Nothing makes sense- the world is broken into sharp angles, lights and shadows forming shapes that he doesn’t understand. He gasps, but the air doesn’t feel like air, more like thick marmalade shoving its way down his throat, filling up his lungs with sickly sweetness. He can’t breathe. He can’t breathe. He can’t-
“Breathe,” says a voice (a beautiful, hideous, wonderful, terrible, impossible voice) above him. “Take a deep breath in, and then out. In…and out.”
He hates it, hates the voice, hates the irrational solidity of the oxygen stuffing up his lungs, suffocating him, but he does it anyway. Breathe in, breathe out.
“Good, Edward,” the voice says, “that’s good.”
There’s not enough energy in his body, enough wind in his lungs to do what he wants to do, to scream no, NO, Ed is dead, he’s dead and you killed him, I am the Kraken, I am Blackbeard, I AM BLACKBEARD-
It’s all he can do to suck in enough air to keep him alive.
TLDR; Stede comes back. Blackbeard is not doing well.

On a ship raid gone wrong, Ed gets hurt stepping in to save Stede. Stede feels immensely guilty that his friend is hurt so offers to help getting Ed cleaned up and runs him a bubble bath. After a bit of convincing that baths don’t have to be cold and can in fact be an enjoyable experience, Ed relaxes and lets Stede take care of him.
