Roman has spent many years gazing out his window to the watch the magic swirl around the island so close he felt he could throw a stone and hit it, and yet the residents were deemed to far gone to be helped. It was something he could believe for the adults on the Isle, but not the children, the ones that grew up only knowing that darkness but were still kids. He just needed to show them the light that he had, show them the good that they can be, and start removing the evil from the world one kid at a time.
It won't be an easy journey, proving to the kids of the Isle of the Dark that they can be good and have a life away from the ones their parents had wanted for them, but it's a journey Roman and his friends are willing to make.

She walked forward, her heels click-clacking against the hardwood floor, she paused for a moment, and in a flash, he was on her, arms wrapped around her waist from behind and nosing his face into her neck.

Remus Kingsley learned at a young age his place in the world.
before he even had the language to describe what was wrong with him, he knew there was something wrong, something everyone could see. His father called him a “sensitive child”, his mother called him slow, and other words he wouldn't repeat. His mother often told stories of him and his brother as infants, Roman was a loud baby, crying and laughing and screaming and making noise constantly, while even when Remus did cry, he was entirely silent. His mother would laugh as she remembered this, but there was always a darkness behind her words, something she refused to say.

But his nephew is Remus, and he's going to bring along just as many surprises as he can fit in the twenty pockets of his cargo pants, bringing a sort of enjoyable chaos that exasperates Roman and Patton to no end.
