Dick was never the social type. That was one of the few things he and Bruce had in common. The environment at the circus didn’t really allow him to make friends, and besides that, he was too young to even want to make an effort to socialize.
Then, Bruce adopted him, and before he knew it, he already had two best friends. He was finally happy. He eventually befriended more people, his classmate Barbara for example, but what he, Wally and Issie had was special. It was more than a friendship. He loved Wally like a brother, and Issie… he loved her. And she didn’t know.
But it seemed like the universe didn’t want him to be happy. His parents, Issie, Jason and then Wally. What was so wrong with him that everyone he ever loved died?

“So what’s the plan, partner? Now that we’ve got them trusting us?””
“This was the plan.”
