Summary
When Clive Rosfield returned to Rosaria after thirteen years as imperial slave, he had expected his life to run in smoother lines. His wedding with the Princess of the North is as good as set, but neither of them could have even imagined what currents had been set in motion with the awakening of Ifrit. Valisthea has become a playing ground and Clive is standing in the middle of a mealstrom.
Sequel to my story "Who I really Am" in which Phoenix Gate still happened, but Elwin survived, while Clive ended up in imperial slavery, so it might be good to read that one before.

So! This work is my very first TereDion fic and it was meant to fill the Prompt "Stars" of #TeredioHoliday2024, but I was late, since I required this site to accept my subscription.
You may recognize the "poem" : it's the song "Stars" sung by Javert in Les Miserables. Javert is the character played by Stewart Clarke, who is also Dion's english VA. I think the two characters have something in common, so I wanted to homage this.

Clive lays dying on the beach, his life slipping away, when suddenly, he finds himself back in time, five years ago. He can't comprehend the divine intervention that sends him back, but overwhelming gratitude fills his heart. This is his second chance, and he is determined to make things right, to save as many lives as he can, especially the one person he has missed dearly for the past five years. With all the Eikon powers still within him, Clive embarks on this new journey, armed with the knowledge of what is to come and the determination to change the future for the better.
The man Cid finds in Nysa Defile is certainly everything the rumors have told, and more, surprisingly. Although his strange and touchy behaviors baffle him, he is grateful to have him join his cause nonetheless.

After the FFXIV x FFXVI crossover event, The Warrior of Light from Etheirys follows Clive to Valisthea and through timey wimey shenanigans ends up there earlier than expected. Despite efforts to remain inconspicuous, the WoL becomes involved in the struggles of Sanbreque's Dominant of Bahamut, as well as the greater struggle in Valisthea with the Blight and the Mothercrystals.
